State report card

Florida grades every public school A to F on the share of possible points it earns on the measures in the state’s 2026 school grades file: test scores, learning gains and, for high schools, graduation and college and career acceleration. The file sets an A for high schools at 65% of points or more.

School year Grade
2025-26 A (68% of possible points)
2024-25 B
2023-24 C

From the same file, the share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26:

  • English language arts: 61%
  • Math: 59%
  • Science: 76%
  • Social studies: 73%

The file gives a graduation rate of 95% for 2024-25, and 56% on college and career acceleration (students earning credit through programs such as AP, IB, AICE, dual enrollment or industry certifications).

Changes coming to the schools that feed Lakewood, from the district’s Planning for Progress work:

  • Approved Feb. 24, 2026: the School Board voted to merge Bay Point Elementary and Bay Point Middle into one K-8 school on the middle school campus for 2027-28. The board is set to vote on a name for it Tuesday, Oct. 13.
  • Up for a vote at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13: a recommendation to move Azalea Middle onto part of the Boca Ciega High campus in 2027-28 would also move a small part of the Bay Point Middle zone to Azalea and move Bay Point’s medical pathway there. No recommendation changes the Lakewood High zone.
