Enrolling a student

New to the district? Pinellas County Schools assigns students to a zoned (neighborhood) school by address. Look yours up with the School Zone Locator, then enroll online through the Focus student information system, following the district’s new student registration steps, which list the documents you need.

Zoned schools for 10 St. Petersburg areas are in our neighborhoods guide.

Focus also handles address changes, special assignment requests and district application programs. Seat reservations for the 2027-28 school year open Jan. 5, 2027. Students with an IEP upload their education records with the online application, and the district’s ESE transfer team follows up.

Choice: magnet, fundamental and early college

Beyond the zoned school, the district runs magnet and fundamental programs that families apply to during a set window each year; the district holds open houses in the fall. See its how to apply for 2027-28 page. Early college seats are applied for through the Focus reservation system, and St. Petersburg College runs collegiate high schools as charters, two of them in the city.
