Old Northeast runs north from downtown along Tampa Bay: older houses, duplexes and small apartment buildings on a grid of numbered avenues, with a chain of waterfront parks on its east side. On the city’s map it is the area of the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association, about 704 acres.

Where it is

On the city’s map, the association’s area runs from about 5th Avenue North, at the edge of downtown, north to about 30th Avenue North, and from 4th Street North east to Tampa Bay. The main streets through it are 4th Street North, 1st Street North, Beach Drive NE, Bay Street NE and Coffee Pot Boulevard NE, which follows Coffee Pot Bayou on the north side. Snell Isle, with its own page, is across the bayou, and Crescent Lake, also with a page, is to the west.

Nearly all of the North Shore Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, lies inside the association’s boundary, according to the city’s historic preservation map.

The city’s parcel map shows 3,096 parcels: 1,933 single-family homes, 691 multifamily parcels (mostly condo units) and 169 duplexes or triplexes. ZIP code 33701 covers the southern part (54%) and 33704 the northern part (46%).

The index is a modeled typical value for the middle third of homes, houses and condos together, not a sale price. HOAs and neighborhood associations

The city’s registry lists the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association as active. It meets quarterly, on the third Monday of the third month of each quarter, at Westminster Palms. It is a voluntary neighborhood association. Condo buildings have their own associations, which the registry does not list.
