Enrollment and teachers
The federal NCES directory counted 616 students in the 2024-25 school year, with 36 full-time-equivalent classroom teachers. That is about 17 students per teacher. The year before, the count was 801.
The state’s 2026 grades file lists all of the school’s students as economically disadvantaged.
State report card
Florida grades every public school A to F on the share of possible points it earns on the measures in the state’s 2026 school grades file: test scores, learning gains and, for middle schools, the share of students passing high school courses or industry certifications. The file sets a C for middle schools at 44% to 56% of points.
| School year | Grade |
|---|---|
| 2025-26 | C (53% of possible points) |
| 2024-25 | C |
| 2023-24 | C |
From the same file, the share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26:
- English language arts: 45%
- Math: 45%
- Science: 47%
- Social studies: 69%
The middle school acceleration figure was 69%. The full report card is on the state’s Florida school report cards site.
Attendance zone and feeder schools
Check any address with the district’s School Zone Locator, or see the district’s middle school zoning map. Zones do not follow city limits.
Of the 153,244 St. Petersburg address points in Pinellas County’s address layer, 33,817 (22.1%) fall inside the Meadowlawn zone on that map.
The district does not publish a feeder list. Comparing its zoning maps (the middle and high school maps were first drawn for 2012-13; the elementary map is for 2026-27), the city addresses in this zone fall in these zones:
- Elementary school: Shore Acres (26%), John M. Sexton (21%), Sawgrass Lake (19%), Lynch (17%), North Shore (11%) and Woodlawn (7%).
- High school: Northeast (85%) and St. Petersburg (15%).
The district’s Planning for Progress recommendations, up for a School Board vote at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, do not change the Meadowlawn zone, but they would reshape the elementary schools in it for 2027-28:
- John M. Sexton Elementary would close at the end of 2026-27, its zone split between Lynch and Woodlawn. At its Oct. 6 workshop the board also looked at closing Woodlawn and keeping Sexton open.
- Lynch and Sawgrass Lake would trade a small area of their zones.
Nearby Mangrove Bay Middle is a district application school, not a zoned one.

The school’s athletics pages list basketball, cheerleading, cross country, flag football, track and volleyball. Its principal page lists clubs including Lego, robotics, chess and Battle of the Books.
