Where it is

The St. Petersburg Downtown Neighborhood Association describes its boundaries this way:

  • Tampa Bay on the east, west to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street (9th Street) between 5th Avenue North and 5th Avenue South (Dali Boulevard).
  • South of that, the blocks between 5th Avenue South and 11th Avenue South east of 4th Street South.
  • A strip along Central Avenue, between 1st Avenue North and 1st Avenue South, west to 18th Street.

Most of the Downtown St. Petersburg Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, lies inside it, according to the city’s historic preservation map. The city’s registry also maps five business associations here: Beach Drive, the EDGE District, Central Arts, the Innovation District and the Dr. MLK (9th Street) corridor.
