Five St. Petersburg barbecue places, on 34th Street South, Tyrone Boulevard, 49th Street and 62nd Avenue North, with hours from their own sites.

Last checked 2026-10-11. Refreshed every three months.

St. Petersburg has a short list of barbecue restaurants, and most are on the south and west sides. 34th Street South has House of Mama D’s, Tyrone Boulevard has Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, and Fatty’s BBQ and J News BBQ are in south St. Pete. Treehouse BBQ is the one on the north side, on 62nd Avenue North.

How we made this list. We started from OpenStreetMap records inside St. Petersburg’s city limits, the same records that feed our local directory, and checked each place against its own website on Oct. 11, 2026. We added places the map missed from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s restaurant license records and checked each address against the U.S. Census Bureau’s city-limits map. Barbecue food trucks and caterers are not listed, and Korean barbecue is on our sushi and Asian list. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. A place can write to us to correct its entry.

The places

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, 2119 Tyrone Blvd. N. The Texas barbecue chain’s St. Pete restaurant, near Tyrone Square. It takes online orders and has a separate catering menu, and it is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

Fatty’s BBQ and Soul Food, 846 49th St. S. A barbecue and soul food kitchen in south St. Petersburg. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

House of Mama D’s BBQ & Seafood, 530 34th St. S. A barbecue and seafood restaurant on 34th Street South that takes online orders through its site. It opens Wednesday to Saturday only.

J News BBQ and Grill, 3320 22nd Ave. S. A takeout barbecue grill in south St. Pete. We found no website; the state last inspected it in May 2026, and it also runs a food truck under the same name.

Treehouse BBQ, 229 62nd Ave. N. A barbecue restaurant and caterer that says it smokes everything low and slow and serves it fresh off the smoker. It is open four days a week, Thursday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. or until the day’s barbecue sells out.

Not on this list. Sonny’s BBQ no longer lists a Tyrone Boulevard restaurant on its own site, and we could not confirm Dr. BBQ, Luckie B’s or The Witches BBQ Den as open: Dr. BBQ’s site no longer lists a restaurant, Luckie B’s site would not load and we found no site for The Witches BBQ Den.
